Join the Cairo Amplified Team

We’re getting ready to launch our first Creative Connections programme in Chesterfield and we’re looking for three sessional tutors to help us bring it to life.

Creative Connections is a free 10-week programme for young people aged 14–17, combining practical music sessions with the different skills that go into making live music happen.

We’re looking for people who know their stuff, but just as importantly, know how to encourage young people, build their confidence and make learning enjoyable and accessible.

Programme starts: 30 September 2026
Location: Hasland, Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Rate: £30 per hour
Contract: Sessional / Freelance

Sessional Music Tutor

Our Music Tutor will lead practical music sessions, helping young people with different levels of experience play together, develop their skills and work towards performing as a band at our end-of-programme live showcase.

This isn't about formal music lessons.

We want someone who can make sessions creative, relaxed and accessible, including for complete beginners. That reflects the role you've written, which focuses on practical sessions, different ability levels, playing together and building towards a live performance.

Sessions:
Wednesday 4pm–5pm and/or Thursday 4pm–5pm
Rate: £30 per hour
Duration: 10 weeks

Sessional Sound & Lighting Tutor

Our Sound & Lighting Tutor will introduce young people to the technical side of live music through practical, hands-on sessions.

They'll get the chance to work with microphones, PA equipment, mixing, soundchecks and stage lighting, gradually building the skills and confidence to help support our final live showcase.

Sessions:
Thursday 5pm–6pm
Rate: £30 per hour
Duration: 10 weeks

Sessional Media & Content Creation Tutor

Our Media & Content Creation Tutor will help young people explore the creative side of live events through photography, video, short-form content, interviewing and behind-the-scenes storytelling.

Participants will create content around Cairo Amplified throughout the programme before putting those skills into practice as part of the media team at our final showcase.

Wednesday 5pm–6pm
Rate: £30 per hour
